The Gallery of Photography has two Black & White darkrooms and a film processing room. These facilities are available for hire by members.

Black & White Darkrooms

Our main Black & White darkrooms can accommodate three single users and our secondary darkroom can accomodate two users.
All formats from 35mm to 5x4 can be printed and all chemicals are supplied.

Darkroom Hire Rates

Individual Members
1 Session (3 hours): €15.00
Full Day (11.30am to 5.45pm): €28.00

Student, Unemployed, OAP*
1 Session (3 hours): €10.00
Full Day (11.30am to 5.45pm): €18.00
* Concession rates are available on weekdays only.

Processing Room Rates

1 - 2 rolls: €7.50
1 - 4 rolls: €10.50
Additional rolls: €3.00 each

How to book

Bookings should be made in advance by calling in person or by telephoning (01) 671 4654 or 670 9293.

The darkrooms are communal and each enlarger is allotted to only one person except by arrangement. Please note that late cancellations (i.e. less than 24 hours notice) are charged at €10.00.

Morning: 11.30am - 2.30pm
Afternoon: 2.45pm - 5.45pm

Sunday: 2pm - 5pm
